Why I Started Circa Diēz

I started Circa Diēz for a simple reason: I couldn’t find eyewear I actually wanted to wear.
I’ve worked in optical for years, and I’ve seen the industry from the inside. What I kept noticing was that a lot of the product out there had become disconnected from the people actually buying it. Prices kept climbing, styles kept cycling fast, and the market started to feel more focused on image than on substance. At the same time, the luxury space often felt overly stiff, exclusive, and out of touch with everyday wear. That never sat right with me.
Luxury, by nature, is exclusive. That’s nothing new. But I don’t believe luxury has to feel cold, judgmental, or unreachable. I think there’s room for something better. Something that feels refined without feeling pretentious. Something elevated, but still wearable. Something that respects the customer. That’s what Circa Diēz is about.
I started designing frames the way I’d want them for myself. Not because I wanted to follow every trend, but because I wanted to create something timeless. Something that feels fresh now, but still makes sense years from now. I wanted frames with strong materials, clean lines, and a quiet confidence to them. No unnecessary noise. No overstatement. Just good design, well made.
For me, eyewear has always been more than just a product. It’s one of the few things people wear every day that can completely change how they carry themselves. A great frame can sharpen your look, change your mood, and become part of your identity without trying too hard. That’s the kind of product I wanted to make. Circa Diēz was built around that idea.
I wanted to bridge the gap between true luxury and everyday wear. A lot of eyewear either feels too basic or too loud. Too disposable or too precious. I wanted to make something in between. Frames that feel considered. Frames that feel premium without shouting about it. Frames you can wear to work, to dinner, on the street, or just because they feel right.
That’s where the idea of quiet luxury comes in for me. Not flashy. Not forced. Just strong design, good materials, and attention to detail.
Every frame we make is meant to reflect that standard. The goal is not to create something that looks expensive for the sake of looking expensive. The goal is to create something that earns its place. Something that feels honest. Something that feels like it was made for people who care about how things are built and how they feel when you wear them.
Circa Diēz is still growing, but the mission is clear: make eyewear that looks good, wears well, and feels fair. I want the brand to stand for quality, restraint, and confidence. I want people to put on a pair of Circa Diēz frames and feel like they’re wearing something that was designed with intention.
